Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
We specialize in steam activated coconut shell based Granular Activated Carbon (GAC).
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) consists of particles that are too large to pass through an 80-mesh (0.177 mm) sieve. Irregular in shape, granular Activated Carbon is often used in fixed filter beds, for a continuous flow purification process. This type of carbon has large particle sizes with well-developed pore structures and can remove contaminants, odors and tastes.
Granular Activated Carbon can also be impregnated with chemicals, making it a low cost, easy to clean option as a catalyst support. Impregnated granular Activated Carbon is often used in gas phase applications involving ammonia, formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, sulfur compounds, chlorine, mercury vapor, and various radioactive materials.
